Job Overview
The Group Head of Safety will provide strategic leadership for health, safety, and environmental management across all CP operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and a strong safety culture.
The Role
This role leads the development and enforcement of group-wide safety systems and drives continuous improvement in workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and improve group-wide safety policies and standardsProfessional development courses
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across operational sites
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programs
- Ensure compliance with national and international safety regulations
- Monitor safety performance indicators and report to senior management
- Manage the group safety budget and resources
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external consultants
- Lead the safety team and promote a strong safety culture
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, or equivalent professional certification (mandatory)
- 8–10 years’ experience in health and safety management, with at least 5 years at senior level
- Experience in manufacturing, food processing, or agriculture preferred
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Proven ability to design and implement safety management systems
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work across multiple sites
- Computer literacy and experience with safety management systems
- Valid driver’s license
