Job Purpose

The Hot Deli Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily hot deli operations, ensuring consistent food quality, maximizing sales, maintaining excellent customer service standards, and leading the deli team to achieve operational efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the Hot Deli section.
  • Ensure food is prepared, displayed, and served according to company standards and food safety regulations.
  • Monitor product quality, freshness, portion control, and presentation at all times.
  • Ensure all hot deli products are available during trading hours.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation within the deli area.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and motivate deli staff to ensure efficient performance and excellent customer service.
  • Prepare staff schedules and allocate duties within the department.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate ordering of deli ingredients, packaging, and supplies.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation and minimize wastage and shrinkage.
  • Conduct daily stock checks and assist with periodic stock takes.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to improve sales and profitability.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Diploma in Food Production, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food retail, catering, restaurant, or deli operations.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, food safety, hygiene, and stock management.
  • Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.
