OVERVIEW
The Malawi School of Government (MSG) is a unique higher education Statutory Corporation established under the Malawi School of Government Act No. 33 of 2022. The School is mandated to develop and deliver human resource development programmes and strengthen the capacity of the public and private sectors.
MSG invites applications from suitably qualified, innovative and results-oriented individuals to fill the following position:
POSITION: HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER
Grade: SG7
Duty Station: Mpemba Campus
Reporting to: Human Resource and Administration Manager
Job Purpose: To support the delivery of human resource management services through implementation of HR policies, recruitment, staff development, employee relations and occupational health and safety programmes.
Key Duties:
- Implement HR policies, plans, strategies and conditions of service
- Facilitate recruitment, selection and placement of staff
- Maintain and update HRMIS and process payroll inputs
- Coordinate training needs assessment, induction, and staff development
- Coordinate grievance, discipline, and collective bargaining processes
- Administer pension, medical insurance, group life and other benefits
- Enforce occupational health, safety and environmental standards
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management or related field (NCHE accredited)
- Minimum of 5 years relevant post-qualification experience
- Demonstrated experience in implementing Performance Management Systems
- Membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage
Competencies: Knowledge of HR principles & labour laws, recruitment & employee relations experience, strong interpersonal & communication skills, integrity & confidentiality, proficiency in HRMIS and MS Office.
