Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Human Resources Assistant role based in Lilongwe.

The Human Resources Assistant will support daily HR operations, including maintaining employee records, preparing HR documents, and updating HR databases and HRIS systems. The role will assist with recruitment activities such as posting job ads, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating onboarding for new hires.

The Human Resources Assistant will help administer employee benefits, track attendance and leave, and respond to routine HR-related inquiries from team members. The position will also support the planning and coordination of staff training, performance review processes, and HR compliance activities while collaborating closely with HR management and other departments.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) with exposure to HR management practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and maintain accurate digital and physical employee records.
  • Practical understanding of Benefits and Payroll Administration, including leave management and employee records related to compensation and benefits.
  • Experience supporting training activities, such as organizing sessions, tracking attendance, and maintaining training records.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, email) and willingness to learn new HR tools and systems.
  • Ability to work on-site in Lilongwe, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
