The company now seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Laboratory Technician, based at its Kanengo offices in Lilongwe.
Job Overview
Reporting to the Pharmacy Logistics Manager, the Laboratory Technician will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of laboratory and pharmaceutical products stored and distributed through the company’s warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that laboratory products stored and distributed to health facilities are fit for their intended use
- Analyze warehousing, packaging, and distribution processes to ensure products meet agreed client specifications
- Assist the Pharmacy Logistics Manager in planning the logistics cycle for laboratory and pharmaceutical products
- Ensure full regulatory compliance in warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and real-time documentation
- Inspect and approve or reject distribution vehicles based on seasonal requirements and suitability, in line with set standards
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Biomedical Laboratory Sciences
- Qualifications in related fields such as Logistics or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage
- Minimum of three (3) years’ laboratory experience, preferably within warehousing and distribution
- Experience in a private pharmaceutical environment is highly desirable
- Must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi
Required Skills and Attributes
- Mature, results-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and compliance standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong organizational and reporting skills
