Zomba Diocese Health Commission operates under the Social Directorate of the Catholic Diocese of Zomba. Its mission is to advance the healing ministry of Jesus Christ by promoting human life and providing preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services in a holistic manner. This is achieved through participation in collaborative networks and partnerships, aligned with the needs and capacities of the communities, and in accordance with Catholic core values and principles, to ensure the delivery of the high- quality services, the Commission is seeking to recruit motivated and experienced individuals for the following vacant positions at one of its health facilities St. Robert Health Centre (Sitima).

Responsibilities or duties

Conducting examinations of various specimens sent from units within the hospital

Preparation of specimen containers and reagents

Receiving and documentation of specimen from wards and out patients department

Processing of specimen

Standardization of machineries ready for daily work

Sending out results to various department

Monitor and supervise performance and daily attendance of subordinates under his/her authority.

Registration of Names, specimens, and results in a proper laboratory register

Recording data in relevant registers/instruments perform routine analysis and reporting to the supervisor following the HIMS and other technical guidelines.

Performs any other duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Diploma in Biomedical Sciences from reputable training institution

Registered with medical council of Malawi

Experience needed

Experience is implied by the requirement of a Diploma and registration with the medical council, and the duties involve supervision.
