OVERVIEW
Nkhoma University is an institution of higher learning accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). The University has three campuses; two at Nkhoma, 15km off Kamphata Trading Centre, and one at Chigoneka in Area 47. The University Head Office is situated at the heart of Lilongwe City, within Lilongwe CCAP premises. As the university is growing, it invites applications from qualified and suitable candidates for the position of Lecturer as follows:
Lecturer Theology – Specializing in Biblical Studies or Practical Theology Master’s degree
Job Purpose:
To provide theological education and ministerial training. The lecturer will teach either Biblical Studies (exegesis, hermeneutics, Old/New Testament) or Practical Theology (homiletics, pastoral care, church leadership) based on specialization.
Key Responsibilities:
Biblical Studies Focus:
- Teach in-depth exegesis of Hebrew and Greek texts (depending on capability).
- Cover biblical history, archaeology, and literary analysis of scriptures.
Practical Theology Focus:
- Teach courses in sermon preparation and delivery (Homiletics).
- Provide pastoral counseling training and church administration skills.
General Duties:
- Supervise students in ministry internships and field placements.
- Conduct research and contribute to theological journals.
- Provide spiritual mentorship and ethical guidance to students.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Master’s degree in Theology (M.Div. or M.Th.), specializing in either Biblical Studies or Practical Theology.
- Experience: Ordination or pastoral experience is highly desirable, along with academic teaching experience.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong moral character and ethical standards.
- Deep understanding of theological doctrines.
- Excellent public speaking and counseling skills.
