Job Description

The Legal Associate will be responsible for providing high-quality, commercially sound legal advice and support to the business. The role will focus on identifying and managing legal risks, supporting strategic business initiatives, and ensuring that legal services are aligned with the organisation’s objectives. The position will also be responsible for managing disputes and litigation matters, while ensuring effective and timely resolution of legal issues.

Legal Advisory & Support

  • Providing timely, practical, and commercially sound legal advice to internal stakeholders on day-to-day business activities.
  • Interpreting and advise on applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures across operational matters.
  • Supporting resolution of legal queries and issues arising from routine business operations.
  • Reviewing and advising on legal implications of business proposals and internal decisions, escalating complex or high-risk matters where appropriate.
  • Supporting the legal team in maintaining consistency of legal advice across the organisation.
  • Contributing to the development of internal advisory tools to improve legal awareness within the business.

Contract Management

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements.
  • Developing and maintaining standard contract templates
  • Ensuring contracts adequately mitigate legal and commercial risks.

Risk Management

  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal risks across the Group.
  • Developing risk mitigation strategies and providing proactive legal guidance.
  • Maintaining a legal risk register and monitoring emerging risks.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitoring changes in relevant laws and regulations and advising the business accordingly.
  • Supporting implementation of compliance frameworks and internal policies.
  • Liaising with regulators and external counsel where necessary.

Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management

  • Managing disputes, claims, and litigation matters involving the Group.
  • Instructing, coordinating, and liaising with external counsel where applicable.
  • Providing strategic input on dispute resolution approaches, including settlement strategy and risk exposure.
  • Tracking and reporting on litigation progress, developments, and outcomes.
