JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
To ensure the effective and efficient verification of weighing and measuring equipment.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Facilitating the verification of weighing and measuring instruments
- Planning verification and inspection trips
- Supervising Senior Legal Metrology Technicians
- Maintaining accuracy of legal metrology working standards
- Initiating legal proceedings against contraveners of the Act
- Verifying working standards
- Keeping and updating records for verification equipment
- Initiating maintenance of equipment
- Compiling weekly progress reports
- Appraising the performance of Senior Legal Metrology Technicians
Required Academic Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Physics or A Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics, Biomedical, Metallurgy Engineering or Metrology
- At least 2 years’ practical experience in a related field
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 24
Level of Education: bachelor degree
