Agricultural Trading Company Limited (ATC), a subsidiary company of AHL Group Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Machine Operator as follows:
Position function
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Production Supervisor, and responsible for ensuring that Factory machines are working properly, stocked with required materials, well-maintained and performing periodic checks on output.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities of the Machine Operator will include the following:
- Operating production machines according to standard procedures in order to meet production quality and daily production plans;
- Checking the quality and mix of raw materials input into production machines to ensure etective machine operation and product quality;
- Assisting in the maintenance of plant and machinery during maintenance schedule;
- Always complying with Health and Safety Procedures and Practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment;
- Reporting any unsafe act, condition, accident or injury immediately to the supervisor;
- Making and maintaining production records daily i.e. raw materials used, products and damages produced;
- Supervising the subordinates and ensuring that they understand their roles and safety precautions.
- Any other related duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Attributes
- National Trade Test Grade 1;
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE):
- At least 3 years’ experience in Plant Operation including a Forklift;
- An artisan experience in electrical or mechanical or instrumentation would be an added advantage;
- High integrity and ethical conduct;
- Team player.
