Job Purpose
The Management Accountant will be responsible for preparing accurate management accounts, financial analysis, budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and performance dashboards to support strategic decision-making at MBL Holdings Limited.
In a modern business environment, this role is not only about recording numbers but also about interpreting financial data, identifying business trends, improving profitability, controlling costs, supporting operational efficiency, and helping management make informed decisions based on real-time financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts for the Group.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, profitability, cash flow, and business performance.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and financial performance reports.
- Monitor company costs and identify areas of overspending, inefficiency, or wastage.
- Prepare cost reports for logistics, fuel, workshops, agriculture, trading, manufacturing, branches, and other business units.
- Support management with pricing decisions, project evaluations, cost-control strategies, and investment analysis.
- Reconcile financial data from branches, subsidiaries, departments, and operational units.
- Prepare reports on debtors, creditors, stock, loans, working capital, and cash flow.
- Develop financial dashboards and performance reports for senior management.
- Use accounting software, ERP systems, Excel, and digital tools to improve reporting accuracy and speed.
- Work closely with operations teams to understand business performance and improve financial discipline.
- Support annual audits, tax compliance, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Provide financial insights that help management improve profitability and business sustainability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional qualification or part-qualification in ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in accounting, management accounting, financial planning, or business analysis.
- Experience in a group company, logistics, agriculture, fuel, manufacturing, trading, construction, or retail environment will be an advantage.
- Proven experience in preparing management accounts, budgets, cash flow reports, and variance analysis is essential.

- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
- Good knowledge of accounting systems, ERP software, and digital reporting tools.
- Ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful business advice.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control ability.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance managers.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and professional discipline.
