About Tolo Ride
Tolo Ride is a next-generation ride-hailing platform developed by Samget Technologies Limited, dedicated to transforming urban mobility in Malawi through its innovative mobile application and dedicated 4141 Call Centre Short Code.
Role Overview
The Marketing Officer will play a critical role in expanding Tolo Ride’s network of partner drivers while managing the company’s social media presence. The successful candidate will serve as the face of Tolo Ride both online and in the field, engaging drivers, riders, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Driver Acquisition and Onboarding
- Design and implement field marketing strategies targeting taxi drivers, vehicle owners, and fleet operators.
- Organize information sessions and registration events to onboard new drivers onto the Tolo Ride platform.
- Assist drivers with application registration, document verification, and customer service training.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with driver communities to promote retention and satisfaction.
2. Social Media and Content Management
- Create engaging and localized content, including graphics, text, and short videos for Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and other platforms.
- Manage online communities and respond promptly to inquiries from drivers and passengers.
- Develop and run targeted digital campaigns promoting Tolo Ride services and the 4141 booking short code.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years’ experience in field marketing, sales, or social media management.
Experience within the transport, logistics, or technology sector will be an added advantage.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and persuasive communication skills.
- Experience managing social media business pages and running basic digital advertising campaigns.
- Good understanding of mobile applications and technology platforms.
- Ability to create engaging marketing content.
Language
Fluent in both English and Chichewa.
Personal Attributes
- Self-motivated and target-driven.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working both in the office and in the field.
