ABOUT THE ROLE

Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, the country's leading sugar producer and part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group (ABF), is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Estate Support Services team at Nchalo. You will provide clinical support for ART, TB, HIV, and primary healthcare services – assessing, managing, and treating patients while contributing to improved health outcomes for employees, dependants, and the community.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine or another recognised clinical qualification.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional or regulatory body (where applicable).
• Specialized Training:
  • Training in HIV/ART management is required.
  • Training in TB management, TB/HIV integration, infection prevention, or public health is an advantage.
• Minimum 2–4 years clinical experience, preferably in ART, TB, HIV care, primary healthcare, occupational health, or clinic-based services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide clinical support for ART, TB, HIV, and related primary healthcare services within the Medical Services function.
• Assess, manage, treat, refer, and follow up patients in line with approved clinical protocols, national treatment guidelines, and delegated clinical authority.
• Support effective ART and TB programme delivery through patient monitoring, adherence support, clinical documentation, treatment follow-up, referral coordination, and reporting.
• Contribute to improved employee, dependant, and community health outcomes through early identification, treatment support, health education, prevention messaging, and continuity of care.
• Adhere to Illovo's policies on SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC).
