About the Role
The Mobilisation Lead works with youth-led organizations across regions to support their campaigns and initiatives, amplifying their efforts internally and externally so they can reach decision-makers. The Mobilisation Lead also works closely with Regional Representatives to strengthen MYCP’s regional networks and develop coordinated action plans. This role ensures that youth-led initiatives are not only supported but also elevated to influence policy and practice.. You will report to the Director of Outreach & Engagement, and work closely with the MYCP Regional Representatives. This is a fully remote, volunteer position, with expectation of 5-7 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate connections between youth organizations and MYCP thematic/advocacy structures (#THINK and #DELIVER), creating innovative mobilisation elements to campaigns and advocacy plans, as well as within research
- Work with youth-led organizations across regions to provide support for their advocacy campaigns and initiatives, and collaborating closely with the Capacity Building Focal Point and Regional Representatives to ensure alignment with MYCP’s outreach offer tailored for each region
- Identify opportunities for joint campaigns, solidarity actions, and collective mobilization around migration issues, ensuring regional campaigns are aligned with MYCP’s global priorities and strategies
- Support capacity-building initiatives to strengthen member organizations’ campaigning and advocacy skills
- Contribute to MYCP communications and visibility by promoting youth-led initiatives
Person Specification
- Aged between 18 and 30 years old
- Experience in youth engagement, or grassroots mobilization, ideally in youth-led or civil society context
- Ability to adapt, connect and engage people from different backgrounds and geographical contexts
- Understanding of migration and migration issues, preferably through lived experience
- Excellent organisational, facilitation and communication skills and command of English (fluency in one or more other UN languages is desirable)
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to youth empowerment and MYCP’s values
- Creative, reliable, and proactive problem-solver
