Introduction:

R4H (formerly known as Riders for Health) is an NGO working to improve healthcare delivery in Africa. R4H has been working with the Ministry of Health and Population in establishing a well-coordinated, reliable national Sample Transport mechanism. Since 2011, R4H has been working in healthcare logistics, transporting clinical samples and results, undertaking healthcare waste management, and road safety training

R4H seeks to fill the following open positions of Program Manager (1), Procurement Officer (1) & Motorcycle Training Instructor (1) to support the upward trajectory of the organization:

Title: Motorcycle Riding Instructor (1)

Location: Mzuzu, Malawi

Reports To: Communications and Resource Mobilization Officer

Direct Reports: None

Position Type: Full-Time fixed-term contract

Position Purpose

The Motorcycle Riding Instructor delivers professional motorcycle riding training to students and corporate clients in accordance with national road safety standards and Riders Driving School procedures. The instructor ensures that all trainees acquire essential technical skills, safety awareness, and defensive riding techniques necessary for safe operations on both public highways and challenging off-road terrains. The incumbent will prepare and deliver high-quality PowerPoint presentations, develop training materials, produce reports, and prepare all required operational documentation in accordance with R4H Ltd’s internal policies and procedures. The role demands a high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability in the stewardship and management of R4H Ltd’s resources

Required Education and Experience:

Education: Minimum of a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).

Licensing: Valid motorcycle riding license (Code A) and a valid motorcycle instructor’s license or certificate are mandatory.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of active experience in motorcycle riding instruction or a directly related field

Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of road safety regulations, the Highway Code, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.

Digital Literacy: Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for compiling reports and training materials.

Advantageous Criteria: Valid certification in Defensive Riding Training and experience in sales or school marketing

Physical Fitness: Physically fit with the capacity to ride and train outdoors for extended periods.

Instructional Skills: Exceptional patience, strong coaching abilities, and clear presentation skills when handling diverse student populations

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, listening, and oral communication skills, ensuring instructions are delivered clearly without misunderstanding
