Position Context
Reporting to the Nursing and Midwifery Unit Manager, the Nurse Midwife Technician will assist the Hospital Nursing and Midwifery team in their daily tasks. S/he will be directly involved in rendering care to patients.
Specific duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Providing high quality and Comprehensive Nursing and Midwifery care to patients;
- Carry out doctors’ orders timely and correctly;
- Responsible for direct and/or indirect Nursing and Midwifery care of patients.
- Comply with infection, prevention and control standards at all times;
- Conducts admission and discharge of patients;
- Participate in Quality Improvement teams of the hospital;
- Participates in binning and billing of the services offered;
- Performs administration of medications correctly;
Educational Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a College Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized Institution
- Must have a good MSCE certificate including English and Mathematics.
- Must be currently registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.Business legal services
- Must have a minimum of three years relevant post qualification experience in a busy hospital environment
- Dialysis nursing experience will be an added advantage
Requisite knowledge, Abilities and skill
- Good command of English and fluency in other Malawian local languages
- Must be a self-starter, pro-active and honest.
- Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
- Must be willing to work odd hours.
