ABOUT THE ROLE

Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, the country's leading sugar producer and part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group (ABF), is seeking a Nursing Manager to join the Estate Support Services team at Nchalo. You will oversee the delivery of high-quality medical and nursing care, manage hospital/clinic operations, supervise nursing staff, and ensure patient-centered services that meet diverse population needs.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) or equivalent from a recognised institution.
  • Registration with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Basic Computer Literacy.
  • Knowledge of nurse/practitioner-led initiatives and national health policy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure provision of high-quality medical and nursing care to patients and clients.
  • Manage and supervise operational issues in the hospital and/or clinics.
  • Ensure services are responsive to patient needs – involve patients and users in service planning and reflect the diverse population served.
  • Design and implement procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure good administrative and support services for the clinic/hospital.
  • Maintain high standards of care through good housekeeping and cleanliness.
  • Manage nursing staff duty rosters to optimise fair workloads while ensuring staffing levels match patient needs.
  • Adhere to Illovo's policies on SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC).
