Background

Action for Sustainable Development (ASUD) is a local Non-Governmental Organization working in the areas of food security, nutrition, environment, education and HIV/AIDS aiming at achieving proper child health and development in rural communities. The organization seeks to recruit a Nutrition Officer to work across its nutrition and HIV/AIDS programms.

Duties and responsibilities

• Community mobilization
• Conduct outreach nutrition education, coaching and counseling
• Promote and support home-gardens
• Develop and implement dietary care plans
• Organize nutrition IEC materials
• Document success stories
• Compile progress reports from time to time
• Any other duties assigned by Management

Requirements

• Diploma in Nutrition or Community Development from a recognized institution
• Aged between 25 and 30 years
• Should have basic food and nutrition knowledge
• Community mobilization skills
• Willing to work extensively
• Fluent Tumbuka or Chewa speaker
• Excellent English communicator
• Able to ride a motorcycle
• Computer literate

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: associate degree
