Background
The Malawi Enterprise Development Fund Limited (MEDF) is a government-owned microfinance institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawians, particularly women, youth, and persons with disabilities, through the provision of quality, affordable, and sustainable microfinance services.
Reporting to: Director of Operations (MF2).
Job Purpose
- Oversee daily operations across all branches and satellite offices
- Monitor performance of operational units and ensure achievement of set targets
- Coordinate loan processing, disbursement, and recovery activities
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
- Supervise and support branch and operations staff
- Prepare and submit operational reports to management
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures
- Drive efficiency improvements and service delivery enhancements
- Coordinate resource allocation across duty stations
Description
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the organization to ensure efficiency, productivity, and alignment with strategic objectives.
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Microfinance, or Business Administration obtained from an NCHE accredited institution
Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Microfinance, or Business Administration obtained from an NCHE accredited institution
Experience
Five (5) years of work experience, with at least three (3) years at management level
