Background

Build Africa is Malawi’s Megastore brand providing a wide range of Hardware & Homeware supplies. We are requiring the services of a fully qualified and competent Outdoor Sales Consultant.

Responsibilities

  • Be a player in the development of collective performance.
  • Daily Routine: Consistently adhere to and execute the daily routines and weekly tasks within the department, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Store Maintenance: Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well maintained. Ensure that products are neatly arranged, and aisles are free of obstacles.
  • Customer Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by helping customers identify their needs, offering product recommendations, and answering any questions about products, tools, or materials.
  • Sales Support: Actively engage in upselling and cross-selling by suggesting complementary products, upgrades, or accessories based on customer needs.
  • Ensure quality customer relationship (internal and external).
  • Develop and update own skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in teamwork to ensure quality service and productivity of the store.
  • Ensuring all stock is priced and displayed correctly.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail sales; experience with outdoor, hardware, or home improvement products is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Honest, reliable, and results-driven with a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
