JOB DESCRIPTION
The PP Woven Sacks Loom Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining loom machines used in the production of polypropylene (PP) woven sacks. The operator ensures the machine runs efficiently, produces high-quality woven fabric, and meets production targets while adhering to safety and quality standards.
1. Machine Operation:
- Operate and monitor PP woven sacks loom machines during production shifts.
- Set up the machine according to product specifications, including yarn type, tension, and weaving parameters.
- Ensure smooth and continuous operation of the loom machine.
2. Quality Control:
- Inspect the woven fabric for defects such as holes, uneven weaving, or yarn breaks.
- Make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Report any quality issues to the supervisor immediately.
3. Material Handling:
- Load PP yarn onto the creel and ensure proper threading of the loom machine.
- Monitor yarn supply and replace empty yarn cones as needed.
- Handle finished woven fabric rolls and ensure proper storage.
4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting the machine.
- Identify and resolve minor technical issues during operation.
- Report major machine malfunctions to the maintenance team or supervisor.
5. Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure the machine’s safety guards and emergency stop buttons are functional.
- Adhere to workplace safety regulations and report any hazards.
6. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate production records, including meter produced, downtime, and machine settings.
- Log maintenance activities and report any issues to the supervisor.
7. Team Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other operators, quality control personnel, and supervisors to meet production targets.
- Assist in training new operators as required.
1. Experience:
- Prior experience operating loom machines or similar manufacturing equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with PP woven sacks production processes is an advantage.
2. Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of machine mechanics and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret production orders and machine settings.
3. Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy yarn rolls or fabric rolls.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
4. Soft Skills:
- Attention to detail and a focus on quality.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
Work Environment
The role involves working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise and machinery.
Shift work may be required, including night shifts and overtime.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Meeting daily production targets with minimal downtime.
- Maintaining product quality and minimizing defects.
- Adherence to safety protocols and reporting of incidents.
- Efficient machine operation and timely reporting of issues.
