WE ARE HIRING
Timbercity Wood Technologies is a demand driven Malawian company finding its niche in the advanced technology of wood machining, wooden and carpentry products; interior designing; and sales of materials and services related to the wooden world. We are based in Blantyre with a footprint in Lilongwe and Mzuzu. We sale wooden products like kitchen units, chest drawers, TV stands, closets, beds, bar stools, inhouse bars, boardrooms, wardrobes. We also sell melamine and all kinds of boards. Additionally, we do tiling, roofing and all work that requires state-of-the-art wooden technology and expertise.

We are therefore hiring like thinking, individuals who would like to grow with us and be part of an employee centred workplace. All these positions are tenable at our Blantyre head office with extensive travelling to all parts of the country to meet customers’ requirements.
Painting Technicians (2)
Reporting to the Workshop Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible, amongst others, for:
Surface Preparation: Preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, removing old paint, filling holes, and smoothing walls. This may involve washing walls, priming surfaces, and making minor repairs.
Painting Application: Applying paint, stain, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or sprayers. Ensure even application and adherence to safety standards.
Mixing and Matching: Mixing paints and other materials to achieve desired colors and finishes, ensuring the right texture and consistency.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining and clean painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers, to ensure optimal performance.
Collaboration: Working with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
Quality Control: Inspecting completed work for quality and compliance with specifications, making adjustments as necessary to meet high standards.
The successful candidate should have the following specifications, experience and skill sets:
An advanced diploma in painting or its equivalent.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the painting field.
Must be computer literate and able to prepare works programs & weekly progress reports.
Physical Stamina: The job often requires standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.
Knowledge of Materials: Familiarity with different types of paints, finishes, and application techniques is crucial.
Safety Awareness: Understanding and adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Level of Education: associate degree
