About the Role

The successful candidates will support access to justice by providing paralegal services, promoting village mediation, and delivering legal awareness initiatives within communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal aid, information, and advisory services to vulnerable groups.
  • Conduct legal clinics in prisons, police stations, and courts.
  • Facilitate support screening and diversion opportunities.
  • Deliver community legal awareness and civic education sessions.
  • Supervise and mentor Village Mediators.
  • Work closely with justice sector institutions, traditional leaders, and local authorities.

Key Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of criminal and civil law.
  • Experience in community justice and mediation.
  • Understanding of Malawi’s justice system and human rights.
  • Commitment to rights-based and inclusive justice.
  • Good digital literacy, including Microsoft Office and data management.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
