This is a part time position of 2 days per week rotating Monday and Tuesday the other coming week Wednesday and Thursday rotating on a roster. Note that on occasionally time you may be required to work the entire weekdays depending on the workload at duty station or field and appropriate compensation for such work will be compensated.
Responsibilities or duties
- Making upholstery, boards and pallet/diy furniture such as beds, chest drawers, cabinets, sofa sets, dining sets, swing, sink holders, shoe, dish and clothes rack, Wardrope, tv stand, picture and mirror frames, window sashes, doors and door frames, office and school desks
- Ceiling installation. (i) Structural/Architectural like conventional or flat, tray, coffered, vaulted, beam and Coved. (ii) Suspended and false ceilings like Suspended/Drop, Stretch and Aluminum ceiling.
- Repairing, Reuse and Recycle of old furniture and pallets.House roofing.
- Preparing paints and painting houses, fences, equipment and household utensils.
- Making partitions, gazebos and indoor or outdoor stages for functions like wedding, engagements, birthday parties and corporate functions. Decoration installation.
- Loading and offloading materials/Furniture. Mirror installation on furniture and houses/shops.
- Scrubbing dust, washing utensils, Mopping and sweeping the shop/warehouse and working area.
Qualifications or requirements
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Making furniture and partitions, stage mounting and decorations
- Ceiling installation and painting of houses and fences and experience in house roofing
- Proficient experience in using power hand tools and manual hand tools.
- Self-starter and attention to detail. Basic electricity experience and knowledge.
Experience needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PSLCE OR JCE or MSCE with 5 years’ experience. Those with Level 1 certificate of TEVETA In Carpentry and Joinery with 3 years post certificate experience will have an added advantage.
