OVERVIEW
Plan International Malawi is seeking a Partnership Management Specialist to support the strategic growth and management of its partnership portfolio in Malawi. The successful candidate will strengthen relationships with local and national partners, government institutions, civil society, and the private sector, promoting effective partnership approaches that contribute to Plan International's mission of advancing children's rights and equality for girls.
- Reporting to: Business Development Manager
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master's degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Project Management, Organisational Development, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in project and/or grant management within development or humanitarian sectors.
- Experience working with NGOs, government institutions, development partners, and private sector organizations.
- Experience in staff training, coaching, mentoring, and civil society strengthening.
- Experience engaging youth movements and partner organisations.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of international development policies, fundraising, and corporate social responsibility (added advantage).
- Strong understanding of rights-based approaches and donor compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, coaching, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in dynamic environments and manage multiple priorities.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead implementation of the Country Partnership Strategy.
- Coordinate partnership mapping, selection, and due diligence processes.
- Promote the Building Better Partnership principles across the organization.
- Manage the Country Partnership Management Committee.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with NGOs, government, civil society, and private sector partners.
- Prepare and manage partnership agreements, contracts, and MoUs.
- Support project design, proposal development, and project start-up activities.
- Coordinate partner funding processes and financial follow-up.
- Organize partner review meetings, monitoring visits, and learning sessions.
- Maintain partnership records and documentation.
- Train staff and partners on partnership management processes.
- Support partner capacity strengthening and compliance.
- Promote safeguarding, accountability, and organisational values in all partnership activities.
