Africa Global Logistics Malawi Limited is a subsidiary of a multinational corporation MSC. Africa Global Logistics is a leading Freight Forwarding and Logistics company in the country. The Group is one of the leading integrated logistics network operators in Africa with concessions in ports and railways. In Malawi we operate the entire logistics service range from international freight forwarding to warehousing and distribution management. The company intends to recruit suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions tenable at our Kanengo offices in Lilongwe on fixed term contracts.

Responsibilities or duties

Reporting to the Pharmacy Logistics Manager, the successful person will among other things be responsible for: –

  • Ensuring that the pharmaceutical products stored in the warehouse and distributed to various health centers are fit for their intended use.
  • Analyzıng the pharmaceutical products warehousing, packaging and distribution to ensure that they meet agreed specifications.
  • Inspecting the warehousing to ensure that the facility meets the standards demanded by the licensing authority.
  • Devising and implementing SOPs for managing pharmaceutical products and ensuring that they are adhered to.
  • Assisting the Pharmacy Logistics Manager on planning the logistic cycle of pharmaceutical products
  • Stocking management for the timely turnaround of products to avoid stocking expired products to ensure timely
  • Ensuring that quality assurance policies and procedures are in place for adherence of acceptable standards
  • Conducting periodic stock taking and compiling reports

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

The ideal candidates should be a licensed Pharmacist in good standing and free of Pharmacy & Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA) sanctions. He/she should also be a hands-on person, mature and results oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, outlook and power point is a pre-requisite for this position. Those having knowledge of pharmacy computer systems with a proven track record managing a unit will have an added advantage.

Applicants must be registered with Pharmacy & Medicines Regulatory Authority with no sanctions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is a pre-requisite for this position. Those having knowledge of pharmacy computer systems will have an added advantage. Ability to work with minimum supervision will be preferred.

Experience needed

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Pharmacy with a minimum of two years’ experience at managerial level managing a unit involved in managing pharmaceutical products. Those having a bias towards pharmaceutical products logistics and warehousing in a busy and reputable company will be preferred.
