The Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Health. CMST is mandated to procure, store and distribute essential medicines and medical supplies to all public health facilities in Malawi. CMST is seeking to recruit non-malawi and malawi nationals to support its mandate to support its establishments in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre as follows:
Pharmacist
Job Grade: MS5
Location: Lilongwe
Responsible to: Pharmacist-in-Charge (MS4)
Responsible for: Pharmacy Technician (MS8)
No. of Positions: 1
Purpose of the Job
To assist in managing and coordinating pharmaceutical operations, inventory management and warehouse activities within the Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor warehouse operations to ensure efficient inventory management and order fulfilment.
- Ensure compliance with Good Warehousing and Distribution Practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain records relating to manufacturing certificates and quality-control reports.
- Supervise the recording and updating of stock movements in management information systems.
- Verify and approve inventory receipts and related transactions.
- Support inventory verification exercises.
- Advise relevant departments on slow- and fast-moving products.
- Support compliance with pharmaceutical storage requirements and safety standards.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Branch Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from a recognised institution.
- MSCE or equivalent.
- Registration with the Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA).
- Postgraduate training in Supply Chain Management or Logistics is an added advantage.
Experience
- At least 5 years' progressive experience in a busy pharmaceutical warehouse environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
