About the Role:

The Pharmacy Technician will assist the Clinic Incharge in dispensing medications, preparing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing customer service in a healthcare setting. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of medication dispensing processes while maintaining quality service to patients and healthcare providers.

Education Qualifications

Diploma or equivalent; Pharmacy Technician certification preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is an advantage.

Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards.

Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmaceutical products.

Registered with the Malawi Poisons Board

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in pharmacy computer systems and software.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Problem-solving abilities and adaptability.

Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

Key Duties

Receive and review prescription orders for completeness and accuracy.

Maintain medication inventory, monitor stock levels, and check expiration dates.

Order and restock medications and supplies as per pharmacy procedures.

Assist patients by providing information on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.

Adhere to all pharmacy regulations, policies, and privacy protocols.

Keep the pharmacy work area clean, organized, and safe.
