ABOUT THE ROLE
Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, the country's leading sugar producer and part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group (ABF), is looking for a Pharmacy Technologist to join the Estate Support Services team at Nchalo. You will be responsible for dispensing medication, ensuring drug safety, maintaining accurate documentation, and complying with pharmaceutical regulations and internal policies.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Full registration and a valid practicing license with the Country Health Professional governing body.
- 3 years relevant work experience.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good temperaments.
- Experience managing pharmacy-related processes.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation and regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with relevant Regulatory, Health, and Information, Education & Communication (IEC) requirements regarding drug indications, contraindications, and professional authorities.
- Dispense medication using good dispensing practices – ensuring the right patient receives the right medicine, in the right dose, at the right time, with correct usage instructions.
- Enhance drug compliance and safety by providing education on side effects, interactions, and proper medication use.
- Maintain accurate and updated documentation for all supplies ordered, received, and dispensed – for audit and future reference.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and safe disposal of expired drugs.
- Adhere to Illovo's policies on SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC).
- Ensure compliance with relevant Regulatory, Health, and Information, Education & Communication (IEC) requirements regarding drug indications, contraindications, and professional authorities.
