JOB DETAILS:
Position Context
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Phlebotomist collects blood specimens from clients for various tests that are being performed in the Laboratory Department.
Specific duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- To identify patients correctly and match the tests ordered before sample collection.
- To select and label correctly the collection tubes.
- To perform venipuncture of easily located vein.
- To give post-puncture care.
- To place specimens in designated location.
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
- Formal training in phlebotomy from a reputable institution.
- A diploma in Nursing or related areas will be an advantage.
