Shacon Ltd is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Plumber based in Lilongwe.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Site Agent/Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing plumbing systems, water supply lines, drainage systems, and related fittings. The role requires ensuring all plumbing works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and drawings to understand and plan plumbing, water supply, and waste disposal systems.
- Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubing while considering existing infrastructure.
- Install, maintain, and repair water supply systems.
- Locate and repair faults in water supply lines, including leaks.
- Repair or replace damaged drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, and related plumbing fixtures.
- Repair domestic appliances such as washing machines and plumbing fixtures, including sinks.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports highlighting project milestones and deliverables.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent.
- Trade Test Certificate Grade 1 or Grade 2 in the relevant field.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ practical experience as a Plumber.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in construction or industrial projects will be an added advantage.

- Strong technical plumbing skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Good troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organizational and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
