Background
Africa Global Logistics Malawi Limited is a subsidiary of a multinational corporation MSC. Africa Global Logistics is a leading Freight Forwarding and Logistics company in the country. The Group is one of the leading integrated logistics network operators in Africa with concessions in ports and railways. In Malawi we operate the entire logistics service range from international freight forwarding to warehousing and distribution management. The company intends to recruit suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions. Tenable in Lilongwe.
Responsibilities
- Distribution of general quotes / RFQ / RFP
- Assistant with compiling rates and solutions for Tenders
- Liaise with Clients to discuss rate submissions and provide solutions
- Formatting quotations / proposals for all modes of transport ie. Sea / Road /Air including cross trade
- Negotiate rates with shipping lines / transporters
- Ensure that rates are updated on the system and that rates quoted are competitive
- Ensure proper handover of quotes / tenders secured to the operations team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants must have an MSCE and a bachelor’s degree with a strong base in sales.
- They must have strong analytical skills and tendering, good knowledge of imports/exports, customs and exchange control procedures in Malawi and in-depth knowledge of tariff shipping operations.
- He/She must also have computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with over 3 years experience.
