NICO Technologies has a vacancy for a Products Officer, tenable at its Head Office in Blantyre. The successful candidate will support the planning, development, launch, and continuous improvement of assigned products across their lifecycle. The role involves close collaboration with the Product Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure effective product delivery.
Responsibilities
The incumbent’s key responsibilities shall, amongst others, include:
- Participate in the development and execution of short- and long-term product plans in alignment with the overall Product Strategy and Annual Operating Plan.
- Support market research activities by gathering and analysing user needs, market trends, and competitor offerings.
- Contribute to defining product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including development, design, Quality Assurance, marketing, and operations to support product development activities.
- Assist in managing product timelines, milestones, and resource coordination to ensure timely delivery.
- Track development progress, identify risks or dependencies, and escalate issues where required.
- Support the planning and execution of product launches in coordination with Product Management and Marketing teams.
- Collect and analyse post-launch performance data and user feedback.
- Monitor product performance metrics and user behaviour to identify areas for improvement.
- Support prioritisation of enhancements and feature updates based on data, user needs, and business impact.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2–4 years’ experience in Information Technology or a similar environment.
Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
- Proven capability to create, own, and maintain product roadmaps that support overall business goals.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- Skilled at collecting, evaluating, and converting business and user needs into clear product requirements and specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare accurate reports and documentation.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and resolve product challenges to deliver desired outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influence skills.
- Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise work in line with product delivery timelines.
