Responsibilities or duties
- Supervise daily contractor and site labour activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution.
- Interpret technical drawings and work packages into clear tasks for field teams.
- Monitor workmanship, productivity, and adherence to technical standards, escalating deviations as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of materials, tools, and equipment to ensure they meet project specifications.
- Coordinate labour, equipment allocation, and site logistics to support project schedules.
- Maintain accurate daily records, report risks and non-conformances, and provide progress updates to the project team.
- Maintain site discipline and ensure contractor teams follow approved safety procedures.
- handover, and Support commissioning, documentation processes, ensuring completed works integrate into operational systems.
- Promote and adhere to Illovo's procedures, policies, and guidelines, including those relating to SHEQR, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with formal training in SHERQ and site safety supervision.
- Strong skills in compliance enforcement, site logistics coordination, record-keeping, and escalation of risks or deviations.
Experience needed
- Minimum 3 years of experience in supervising contractor teams and site labour, with proven ability to translate technical drawings into daily execution tasks.
