Lilongwe City Council invites applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals for internship positions in the Directorate of Health and Social Services.
Responsibilities or duties
Successful candidates will be involved in:
- Supporting health education plans and community outreach activities
- Coordinating environmental health and sanitation programs
- Promoting occupational health and safety in industries and workplaces
- Conducting inspections of business premises, including bars and restaurants
- Assisting in enforcement of public health regulations and standards
- Participating in disease prevention and control interventions
- Collecting and reporting health and sanitation data
- Supporting waste management and pollution control initiatives
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- A Diploma in Public Health or Environmental Health Sciences from a recognized institution
- Recent graduates (within the last 2–3 years) are strongly encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office applications)
- High level of integrity and professionalism
