Background

Africa Global Logistics Malawi Limited is a subsidiary of a multinational corporation MSC. Africa Global Logistics is a leading Freight Forwarding and Logistics company in the country. The Group is one of the leading integrated logistics network operators in Africa with concessions in ports and railways. In Malawi we operate the entire logistics service range from international freight forwarding to warehousing and distribution management. The company intends to recruit suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions tenable at our Kanengo offices in Lilongwe on fixed term contracts.

QUALITY ASSURANCE PHARMACIST

Responsibilities

  • Devising and maintaining the quality system and overseeing all quality assurance aspect in all AGL Pharmaceutical Warehouses
  • Carrying out audit checks to ensure compliance to the quality assurance – ie. audit for compliance to policies and procedures ie. on paper vs practice
  • Ensuring that Warehouse KPIs as set out by the client are being adhered to and take necessary action on any deviations observed
  • Compiling reports on product, process and system risks – and keep management informed
  • Overseeing the monitoring of current inventory levels, tracking orders, including transfers and cycle counts and investigating any arising problems and compiling reports
  • Ensuring the maintenance of up to date and accurate records of inventory, reviewing documentation and monitoring product codes to search for discrepancies between stock and records
  • Reporting on outcome of regulatory inspections and ensure responses are complete and managed to verifiable closure-and keep management informed
  • Reviewing complaints determine if it relates to failure to meet specification and investigating and reporting with recommendations to management for appropriate actions
  • Highlighting and taking necessary actions on any deviations to the standard operating procedures of all AGL pharmaceutical warehouses

Qualifications & Requirements

The ideal candidates should be a licensed Pharmacist in good standing and free of Pharmacy & Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA) sanctions. He/she should also be a hands-on person, mature and results oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, outlook and power point is a pre-requisite for this position. Those having knowledge of pharmacy computer systems with a proven track record managing a unit will have an added advantage.

Applicants must be registered with Pharmacy & Medicines Regulatory Authority with no sanctions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is a pre-requisite for this position. Those having knowledge of pharmacy computer systems will have an added advantage. Ability to work with minimum supervision will be preferred.

  • Minimum of five years’ experience at managerial level managing a unit involved in managing pharmaceutical products
  • Licensed Pharmacist in good standing and free of Pharmacy & Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA) sanctions
  • Proven track record managing a unit
