Background
BESPAT Construction Limited was established and registered as a general works contractor in both Building and Civil Engineering Category with Construction Industry Regulation Authority (CIRA). Over the years, the company has undertaken many challenging projects and accumulated skills, technical know-how and experiences in design of building and civil solutions, project management services, building trades and related Engineering works. Our objective is to provide our clients with an “I am assured” experience when chosen to execute the projects.
We are now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a team of experts to support the growth of this business. He/she shall report operationally to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and strategically to the Managing Director.
Duties:
- Preparing tender documents and other related documentation.
- Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements
- Preparing and Carry out Cost estimates, cost planning and cost management
- Estimating quantities, costs and time scales for material and labour
- Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure profitability of the projects. Ensuring that clients get value for their money
- Keeping track of materials, tools, equipment, machinery and orders
- Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors and subcontratcors
- Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment and other documents.
- Valuing completed work, managing budgets and overseeing payments
- Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies
- Analysing terms and conditions in the contract.
- Predicting potential risks in the project and taking precautions to mitigate such.
- Ensuring projects meet legal and quality standards
- Advising on the maintenance costs of specific buildings
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Organising, preparing, and participating in meetings
- Travelling from office to various project sites as required
- Searching for new potential projects and provide updates, analysis of the market.
- Conduct any other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying
- At least 2 years’ experience working for a busy civil or construction company
- Team player and able to relate with both skilled and unskilled workers
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and clients’ demands
- Flexibility
- Analytical and ability to work and travel in rural areas
