FINCA Limited (Malawi), a subsidiary of FINCA Impact Finance (FIF), is a deposit taking micro finance institution in Malawi operating through 22 (twenty-two) service outlets serving borrowers and savers in rural, urban, and peri-urban areas in Malawi.

FINCA Limited (Malawi) is increasing access to its services and products through alternate channels.

Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for FINCA Limited (Malawi) dynamic, professional, and qualified individual to fill the below vacancy tenable at one of its offices: –

Reporting to the Recovery and Monitoring Manager, the job holder will: –

  • Draw Recovery Plans every fortnight in coordination with the Recovery and Monitoring Manager.
  • Collect all information concerning collateral and security realization from each cluster/branch.
  • Highlight and escalate any credit failures to identify ways of improving the loan approval process.
  • Follow up with loan recovery deposits with the Branches.
  • Manage Branch Recoveries in co-ordination with the Branch Recovery Team from the office.
  • Manage Branch Recoveries with the Branch Recovery Team in the fields.
  • Ensuring that all collateral is attached and sold in accordance with established policies and procedures and proceeds from the sales are remitted to FINCA on time.
  • Prepare recovery status reports monthly and when requested to do so by Management.
  • Review justifications for write-offs submitted by staff against real information from the field (clients).
  • Perform administrative work or other job functions related to collections and recoveries.

Job Requirements

Qualification

  • Diploma in any finance/business-oriented field.

Experience

  • 2-years relevant job experience.

Functional skills:

  • Ability to effectively sell and represent FINCA.
  • Basic computer skills: mainly excel and windows.
  • Business management skills
  • Basic credit analysis skills
  • Observation skills
  • Analytical skills and logical reasoning
  • A good feeling for numbers
  • Excellent public relations skills
  • Willingness to work in the field, sometimes for long hours.

Managerial/professional skills:

  • Planning and organizing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A team player who is also able to work independently.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Customer-oriented.
  • Social consciousness.
  • Integrity and professional ethics.
