NBS Bank Plc invites applications from suitably qualified and interested candidates to fill the following vacancy tenable in Food & Agribusiness Department, in Lilongwe.

RELATIONSHIP ANALYST

Reporting to the Relationship Manager, the successful candidate’s responsibility will be to develop and execute strategic client plans to build strong relationships with agribusiness clients and deliver profitable, integrated NBS Bank products and services. The role focuses on driving client profitability, revenue growth, risk optimization and consistent service delivery within the Food & Agribusiness portfolio.

Responsibilities or duties

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following, among other responsibilities:

  • Support the Relationship Manager in the development and execution of strategic client plans for Food & Agribusiness clients and driving their implementation with Client Service Teams.
  • Conduct continuous research and analysis of agribusiness clients’ operations, market environments and financial performance.
  • Coordinate and support Client Relationship and Service Teams across the Bank by ensuring clarity of roles, aligned contributions, and delivery of agreed client outcomes.
  • Support the Relationship Manager in building and maintaining strong relationships with agribusiness client decision makers and identifying commercial opportunities for new and existing clients.
  • Coordinate and support client engagement programs, including industry events, agribusiness forums, conferences and client entertainment activities.
  • Administering and analyzing Client Service Surveys and implementing targeted action plans to address identified service gaps.
  • Supporting the Relationship Manager in driving annual budgets, monitoring performance against targets, promoting product cross-sell and improving client profitability.
  • Managing overall client costs and revenue by tracking daily, weekly and monthly revenue contributions and proactively responding to risks or declining opportunities.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business Administration, Agriculture Economics or related filed or its equivalent.

Experience needed

  • Minimum of 2 years banking experience within the Branch network with exposure to Treasury and Credit Management.
  • Experience or knowledge in Agribusiness, Value Chain Financing or Agricultural Markets will be an added advantage.
