Background
Sycamore Credit Limited is a Malawian-owned Company that provides loan products. Sycamore Credit Limited was incorporated in April 2018 with the Registrar of Companies and was licensed to operate as a microfinance company in August 2018 by the Reserve Bank of Malawi. The company is looking for Relationship Officers (RO) – Interns.
Responsibilities
The RO Interns will be reporting to the Relationship Supervisor. He/she will support the sales team at Sycamore Credit Limited with prospecting, lead generation, research, and customer acquisition and support to drive growth and gain industry experience and will be required to travel out of the office as the jobs require 80% of the time in the field.
He/she will have primary responsibility for achieving the ambitious growth strategy and for positioning Sycamore Credit Limited as a leading provider of high-quality financial services in Malawi. This will include the following key areas:
- Building client relationships
- Product knowledge
- Meeting sales goals/targets
- Negotiations
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma in Banking, Business Administration or Management, Marketing or Finance, or any relevant qualifications.
- Direct experience in a microfinance institution, with at least 6 months of work experience as an intern is an added advantage
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Excellent selling skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Good customer relationship management
- Should be a self-starter
- Experience in a start-up environment is strongly preferred
- Proven ability to work under pressure and ability to embrace and manage change at all times
- Excellent communicator in both written and verbal skills in English
Additional Notes
The position will be based in Blantyre. All shortlisted candidates will be subject to face-to-face interviews, together with criminal checks and a security clearance.
