Oxfam {affiliate/} is looking for Research Assistants

The Research Assistants will be critical of support with the following areas.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Administering of the survey tools to collect information from the sampled people.
  • Support with qualitative data collection
  • Support with data cleaning of the collected data on daily basis.
  • Syncing of the collected data
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam’s mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

Experience needed

  • Minimum of a Degree in relevant qualifications (Agriculture/ Energy/ Natural Resource Management/ Disaster Risk Management/ Gender
  • Experience in conducting surveys for Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs)
  • Ability to use phone for data collection and those with experience in using Survey CTO will have an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently to meet daily target with very minimal supervision.
  • Good teamwork, time management and positive attitude

Desirable

  • Conversant with Survey CTO application for data collection
  • Chichewa and English are essential (Both written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel to any of the mentioned Districts.
  • Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and policies including demonstrable commitment to gender equality and adhere to safeguarding principles.
  • Have a good working mobile phone with android application and will be willing to use the personal gadget for data collection.
