Reporting to: Restaurant Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints.
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
  • Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it.
  • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses.
  • Analyse average checks, average spend per person as well as sales mix, in order to add value to menu planning and up-selling.
  • Ensure there is a departmental leave planner and that all permanent staff have been allocated for annual leave to ensure leave liability is kept to a minimum.
  • Ensure rosters are designed and monitored according to business levels.

Qualification, Experience and attributes:

  • Diploma in Hospitality Management those with a Hospitality Degree will have an added advantage. 5 years’ experience in a food service environment including a fine dining,
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
  • Proven excellent customer service.
  • Familiarity with Restaurant Management software.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, motivational and people skills.
