The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), an organization entrusted with the assessment, collection, and accounting for tax revenues for the Malawi Government is inviting applications from versatile and suitably qualified candidates to fill the above vacant position in the Enterprise Wide Risk Division.

Overall Objective

To contribute to the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide risk strategy for the Authority.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Carrying out research and risk analysis activities to identify operational risks and targets.
  • Conducting risk analysis to determine magnitude and consequences of risk and adopt the appropriate treatment.
  • Coming up with appropriate mitigation strategies to address identified risks and referring action to sections and/or departments as required
  • Collecting relevant data and reports from divisions, stations, business units, projects and systems to support risk assessment and manage risks.
  • Following up on implementation of recommended risk mitigation measures and collect evidence on all mitigation already implemented.
  • Preparing performance measurement reports on risk appetite

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management or equivalent

Experience needed

A minimum of 3 years in risk management environment

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • High level of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Successful candidates before being appointed will undergo an extensive background check of their integrity. Only when the vetting exercise is favourable shall the Authority make the appointment.
