Background

Based on its operational requirements, Malawi Fertilizer Company wishes to recruit suitably qualified person to fill the following existing vacancy, which is tenable at its Malawi Fertilizer Company in Lilongwe.

Position Purpose

To ensure the identification and generation of sales opportunities, effective customer relationship management, strategic sales performance enhancement, and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices through comprehensive customer support and expert agricultural advice

Main duties

  • Identify sales opportunities and generate sales leads to expand market reach and increase sales pipeline, driving business growth and revenue.
  • Analyze existing and potential customer crop needs, recommend appropriate product offerings, and communicate requirements to enhance customer satisfaction and meet agricultural demands effectively.
  • Manage commercial sales, negotiate contracts, and determine customer payment terms to ensure smooth transactions and secure long-term business partnerships.
  • Plan and implement comprehensive customer contracts, define commercial service delivery terms, and develop customer management strategies to optimize client relationships and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute key account management plans, resolve customer issues, and evaluate customer service operations to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Conduct soil sampling, laboratory testing, and interpret soil analysis results to develop farm nutrient recommendations that enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability.
  • Oversee the compilation of training materials, the planning of farmer interventions, the execution of farmer engagements, and the evaluation of return on investment (ROI) to support farmer education and improve agricultural practices.
  • Receive and confirm orders promptly to ensure customer requests are met on time, enhancing customer trust and satisfaction.
  • Process distribution requirements efficiently to coordinate seamless product delivery, optimizing logistics and minimizing delays.
  • Schedule customer deliveries accurately to meet client expectations and operational efficiencies, ensuring timely product arrival and customer satisfaction.
  • Process invoicing accurately and promptly to maintain cash flow and financial transparency, supporting organizational financial health and customer relationships.
  • Manage order payments and revenue assurance to ensure timely payment processing and revenue recognition, supporting financial stability and forecasting.

Desirable Qualifications, Work experience and Personal Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business Administration or related
  • 5-7 years of experience, including a track record of 2 years’ experience in the Agri sector, ideally with fertilizer sales.
