OVERVIEW
Orbis DMC Limited is a domestic Tour Operator with its headquarters in Blantyre, Malawi. The company is a locally renowned social impact travel organisation, working in educational, business, leisure & special interest group expeditions, with an emphasis on developing progressive community‑based tourism practices for sustainable economic development.
An opportunity has arisen within the company to fill the position of Sales Consultant.
The Job
Reporting to the Managing Director (Malawi), the Sales Consultant will be responsible for supporting sales activities and client servicing across Orbis DMC. The role focuses on itinerary development, booking coordination and maintaining accurate sales and product information across all programmes and destinations.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Managing and maintaining the in‑house booking management systems for Orbis DMC, ensuring all bookings, itineraries and client details are accurate and up to date.
- Preparing tailored itineraries and quotations on the booking management system in close collaboration with the Malawi and UK sales teams.
- Liaising with suppliers (accommodation, transport providers, guides, activity operators, and other partners) to make and confirm booking arrangements, amendments, special requests; manage availability and ensure services are delivered as contracted.
- Managing sales‑related enquiries and client records, including client follow‑ups, preparing travel documentation and travel packs, and providing timely, professional communication with clients.
- Assisting with social media activities by contributing content, images and updates in line with company branding and marketing guidelines.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree/Diploma in Tourism.
