Background

MPICO has outstanding current and legacy receivables that require reconciliation. To address this, we are seeking a detail oriented and highly organised individual to join our Finance Team on a fixed – term contract basis as Senior Accounts Administrator (Receivables), based in Lilongwe.

The estimated contract duration is 6 months, subject to renewal depending on business needs.

Reporting Structure

Reporting directly to the Assistant Financial Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible, among other duties, for reconciling over 60 receivables accounts within a limited timeframe. This role requires a high level of accuracy, discipline, and the ability to work independently.

The incumbent will be individually accountable for achieving results through their own efforts, with minimal supervision, while maintaining strict adherence to timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receivables’ reconciliations for over 60 accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between customer records and recorded transactions identified during the reconciliation exercise.
  • Weekly update on the progress of reconciliations.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports and summaries for management review.
  • Making recommendations to Management based on the status of the reconciliations.
  • Support the Finance Team with ad hoc duties as required.

Requirements for the Role:

  • Degree in Accounting from a recognised institution.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in debt collection process.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and Accounting Packages.
