Background

Tilitonse Foundation has partnered with Comic Relief and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the UK Aid to implement a programme called “SR20 Shifting the Power Programme“. The programme is expected to run from 2022 to 2030. The five thematic areas for the Programme are: Early Childhood Development, Gender Justice, Mental Health, Safe and Secure Shelter and Climate change particularly Urbanization. The primary objective of the programme is to strengthen and develop the capacity of local Civil Society Organizations to ensure that they are independent and resilient in order for them to effectively execute their mandates.

The project has six objectives as follows :

  • Local CSOs develop capacity to operate effectively and respond to needs of communities and citizens
  • Local CSOs develop capacity to mobilize resources locally and sustain their operations and organizations with minimal donor dependence
  • Local organization strengthening service providers develop capacity to support local CSOs to implement effective interventions under the Shift the Power (StP) principles
  • Local CSOs develop capacity and undertake effective and relevant MERL
  • Capacity in advocacy, networking and engagement on StP principles developed among CSOs and other players
  • Shift the Power principles entrenched in Malawi and the movement strengthened

It is against this background, particularly the third objective, that the Foundation is calling upon experts/consultants/service providers to express interest in being registered in the Foundation’s service provider’s database. The Foundation will also hold an orientation which those expressing interest will be required to attend.

Purpose

The service providers database will be used by the Foundation and its partners to identify and engage experts as opportunities arise. The orientation workshop will bring together credible local service providers and Civil Society Strengthening Fund partners in all the three region to co-create ways of working. Orientations will take place as follows:

Central Region from 13th to 14th July, Southern and Northern Regions.from 16th and 17th July 2026.

Areas of expertise

The Foundation is particularly interested in service providers with experience in (but not limited to):

  1. Institutional governance
  2. Leadership and management
  3. Financial management
  4. People management
  5. Resource mobilization
  6. Risk management
  7. Programming (program design and implementation)
  8. Result based management
  9. Knowledge Management and communication
  10. Gender and social inclusion
  11. Safeguarding
  12. Political economy analysis
  13. Audit

Eligibility criteria

Interested applicants should:

  • Possess relevant academic qualifications
  • Be registered with the Malawi Revenue Authority
  • Demonstrate proven experience in their area(s) of expertise
  • Have strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
  • Be available for short-term assignments as needed
  • Have a track record of delivering high-quality work in recent years
  • Have experience working with Community Based Organizations and local civil society organizations
