Background

Cement Products Limited (CPL) is a leading cement manufacturing company committed to excellence in production, safety, and environmental stewardship. We operate a modern quarry and plant facility supplying high-quality cement products to the Malawian market and beyond.

Purpose of the Role

The Stores Clerk will be responsible for the receipt, storage, control, and issuance of materials, spares, fuel, and consumables, ensuring smooth plant operations, accurate inventory records, and compliance with company procedures and safety standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming materials including mechanical and electrical spares, lubricants, fuels, and consumables
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Maintain accurate stock records, bin cards, and store ledgers
  • Issue materials strictly against authorized requisitions and on FIFO basis
  • Conduct regular stock counts and report variances
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and good housekeeping in the stores
  • Support production and maintenance teams by ensuring timely availability of materials
  • Prepare inventory reports and support audits and stock reconciliations
  • Comply with safety, environmental, and internal control requirements

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum Qualification of Diploma in Stores Management, Procurement, Logistics, Accounting, or any other related fields
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a stores or warehouse environment, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Good knowledge of inventory control and stock management
  • Must have hands-on experience with ERP systems
  • Experience in cement, clinker, or heavy industry will be an added advantage
