Background

The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) is a statutory body established under the Communications Act, 1998 to regulate the provision of services in the communications sector in Malawi, comprising telecommunications, postal and broadcasting.

MACRA is inviting suitable persons to apply for the following vacant positions tenable at its Blantyre Head Office.

STORES OFFICER

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receiving and inspecting all incoming goods making sure that they are conforming to specifications as per purchase orders and updating bin cards before and after issuing out the goods to users.

Reporting, documenting and tracking damages and discrepancies on orders received.

Raising Good Received Notes (GRN’s) for supplies received and certification of invoices for payment by the finance department

Recording and despatching goods as required to all Regional offices and projects sites.

Filling Local Purchase Requisitions (LPR) for all stock items and assisting the procurement officer to order adequate supplies to ensure the smooth flow of organisations operations.

Setting minimum and maximum reorder levels for all stock items, reconciliation of physical stock balances with ledger balances on a monthly basis and making necessary preparations for Stock Taking

Timely generation of monthly stock consumption report as per department

Initiating the disposal of redundant office equipment and general inventory

Ensuring safety and security of all supplies and equipment.

Monthly stock count, reconciliation and report on stores status

Qualifications and Experience

The holder of the position is expected is expected to have the following minimum key qualifications:

Minimum of a degree in Procurement and Supply Chain form a recognized University.

At least three (2) years’ experience in stores or procurement.

Membership with Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply [MIPS) is a must.

Excellent computer skills in word-processing and Excel

Good communication and negotiation skills
