The Malawi School of Government (MSG) is a unique higher education Statutory Corporation established under the Act of Parliament No. 33 of 2022. Our core mission is to shape Malawi’s present and future by developing and delivering human resource development programmes and enhancing the capacity of the public and private sectors through education and training, research, consultancy, and advisory services.

MSG invites suitably qualified, motivated, and agile candidates to fill the following vacant positions tenable at its Secretariat, Mpemba Campus (formerly known as Staff Development Institute (SDI) and Kanengo Campus (formerly Malawi Institute of Management):

Responsibilities or duties

To administer and monitor ICT systems.

  • Implement policies, plans, strategies, programmes, and systems relating to ICT.
  • Manage intranet.
  • Back up databases.
  • Tune databases.
  • Configure databases.
  • Index databases.
  • Provide end user support.
  • Allocate user rights.
  • Prepare and submits reports.
  • Allocate work.
  • Appraise staff.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields from an accredited or recognised institution by the National Council for Higher Education plus any one of the following professional certifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
  • Must be a registered member of ICTAM.

Experience needed

3 years of relevant experience.

  • Implement policies, plans, strategies, programmes, and systems relating to ICT.
  • Manage intranet.

  • Tune databases.
  • Configure databases.
  • Index databases.
  • Provide end user support.
  • Allocate user rights.
  • Prepare and submits reports.
